PRESS RELEASE
Sr. Leader of Bhartiya Janta Party and its candidate from Janakpuri Assembly Constituency – Prof. Jagdish Mukhi undertook a door-to-door campaign of A-1, A-1A, A-1B, C-4E, C-2C ( Pocket 2) & C-2D Blocks of Janak Puri today.
Accusing the Congress Govt. of Delhi of apathy and inaction, Prof. Mukhi said that during the last 10 years of Congress misrule, its Deptt. of Industries has proved to be totally inactive leading to the closure of small scale industrial units. There is noone to redress the grievances of small-scale industrialists .Prof. Mukhi said that hundreds of ‘ Industrial Plots Allotment’ cases under the ‘Relocation Scheme ’ are still pending. However, the Minister of Industries is in deep slumber. There are many cases with the Delhi Govt. where the industrial units located in residential areas and shops being run in houses were to be relocated under the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Thousands of cases are lying pending which involve industrialists who had deposited partial amount or those who could not deposit the documents required by the Deptt. of Industries or those who got their deposits back or those who could not be allotted industrial plots on account of their being in the Local Commercial Area. The Govt., being a prisoner of indecision, is simply sitting over the matter and not taking any decision.
Prof. Mukhi said that the Minister of Industries himself had decided in 2006 to formulate a new ‘Allotment Policy’ under the ‘Relocation Scheme’ so that the above cases were thoroughly reviewed and the aggrieved parties given some relief. It is, indeed a matter of sorrow that nothing of the sort has happened and people continue to suffer on account of the apathy of the Govt.
Prof. Mukhi said that the Delhi Govt. had identified 18 residential areas having more than 50% industrial units. Such areas were to be declared industrial areas, but the Govt. is not doing any thing with the result that the sword of Damocles is hanging over the head of small-scale industrialists. Prof. Mukhi announced that once the B.J.P. is in power, the Govt. will announce a clear and unambiguous industrial policy so that the industry in Delhi gets a fillip.
