Addressing a public meeting in Sita Puri, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Sr. BJP leader and its candidate from Janak Puri Assembly Constituency said that Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit, who also happens to be the Chairperson of Delhi Jal Board, is squarely responsible for the non-availability of potable drinking water in Sita Puri, Mahavir Enclave Part-2 & 3, Chankya Place Part- 2. She has been passing the buck to the neighbouring state for this malady. The population of Delhi has increased by 28 lakhs during the last one decade .Today one third of Delhiites don’t get potable drinking water. According to a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, 42% of the water supplied by the neighbouring states just goes waste. In other words, Delhiites are being deprived of water due to gross mismanagement by Delhi Jal Board.
Prof. Mukhi said that the B.J.P. has prepared the blue print of a plan to provide drinking water to all Delhiites. Once the BJP is in power, it will implement the plan by shortening the width and increasing the depth of Yamuna, so that a reservoir is created and the rainy water is stored in it. Thus it will permanently solve the water woes of Delhi. He promised that the residents of Sita Puri, Mahavir Enclave Part-2 & Part-3, Chankya Place will start getting drinking immediately after a B.J.P. Govt. is in the saddle
