PRESS RELEASE

Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Sr. BJP leader and its candidate from the Janakpuri Assembly Constituency undertook a hectic tour of the Harijan Basti of Sita Puri, P.G. Block of Janak Puri, Possangipur, Police Lines and Chankya Place on the last day of electioneering. During this election campaign, the people of Street No. 10 of Chankya Place weighed Prof. Mukhi in tomatoes and onions to draw the attention of Congress to the sky-rocketing prices. The way he was warmly welcomed and the enthusiasm with which the people of the area participated in his election campaign, clearly shows that Prof. Mukhi’s victory is not only a foregone conclusion but it will also be marked by the highest margin of votes in the whole of Delhi.

Prof. Mukhi strongly condemned the bomb blasts by the terrorists in Mumbai, the commercial capital of the country and paid his high tributes to those who were killed in this attack. The way the terrorists took hostages and indulged in indiscriminate firing resulting in the death of a large number of people is in ample proof, if one was needed, that terrorism has crossed all limits in India. This reprehensible act of terrorists has added a dark chapter to the history of India and the Congress Govt. is mainly responsible for this stigma and blot on her fair name.

Prof. Mukhi asserted that terrorist have become emboldened due to the apathy and inaction of the Congress Govt.. It is shameful that for the last two years, the Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit has simply been sitting over the file containing the Mercy Petition of Afjal Guru, who was mainly responsible for the attack on Indian Parliament, the greatest temple of our democracy and who was sentenced to death by the Hon’ble Court for this heinous crime. Consequently, the terrorists are feeling emboldened. The whole country alongwith Delhi is forced to live under the shadow of terrorism. The Congress Govt. has scrapped POTA, a law which was passed to tackle terrorism. Thus, the Congress has totally failed on every front and has lost its moral right to govern the country after this dastardly attack.

In the end, Prof. Mukhi appealed to the voters of Janak Puri constituency to ensure victory of B.J.P. by pressing the button in front of LOTUS so that there is an over-all development of the area.
