Addressing an election meeting held in Virender Nagar in support of Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, senior leader of the BJP and its candidate from the Janakpuri Assembly Constituency, Sh. Madan Lal Khurana, a former Chief Minister of Delhi said that the Metro Rail and Fly- Overs are not the achievements of Congress and it was wrong for the Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit to claim credit for the same and seek votes in their name. Recalling his tenure as B.J.P. Chief Minister, Mr. Khurana said that he had travelled on a 12-day study tour of eight countries to find solution of the transport problem of Delhi. It was only then that he had taken a decision to introduce Metro Rail in Delhi. Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was the Finance Minister at that time. Therefore, the then B.J.P. Govt. of Delhi is the real founder of Metro Rail as its foundation stone was also laid by Sh. Atal Behari Vajpayee, the then Prime Minister of India. Similarly, claimed Sh. Khurana, the construction of fly-overs in Delhi was also started by the then B.J.P. Govt. in Delhi. The only gifts that Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, the present Chief Minister of Delhi has given to Delhiites are rising prices and corruption.

Sh. Khurana said that Indra Prastha University, which is now known as Guru Gobind Singh Indra Prastha University came into existence only due to the sustained efforts made by Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, the popular candidate from Janak Puri . Thousands of students, both male and female, are getting education in this University. Sh. Khurana said that the B.J.P. has a number of visionary plans and schemes waiting to be implemented by Prof. V.K. Malhotra and Prof. Jagdish Mukhi. He hoped that Delhi would make progress by leaps and bounds under their leadership . He said that every vote cast in favour of Prof. Jagdish Mukhi would help in making Delhi a world class capital.
