BJP, JANAK PURI: Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was born on 1st December 1942 in Village Dajal, Distt. Dera Gazi Khan, (Now in Pakistan). After partition of the country, the family settled at Village Sohna in District Gurgaon, Haryana. He got his school education from Sohna. He got his B.Com degree from Raj Rishi College, Alwar, University of Rajasthan and M.Com degree from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He was awarded Ph.D. in the field of Finance from Kurukshatra University. He started his political career as a student leader. He joined Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad, Student Wing of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. He got elected as the President of the Student Union of Raj Rishi College, Alwar. Prof. Mukhi joined Bharitya Jan Sangh, which was subsequently rechristened as Bharatiya Janta Party. He also held several responsible posts in the organization. He was President of West Delhi Bhartiya Janta Party and Secretary of Delhi State Bhartiya Janta Party.
